Surrey has more than one hundred venues licensed for marriages and civil partnerships, according to Surrey County Council. A fair number of them are barns. Here are the ones we would point you towards, sorted by guest count, with the price bands that are published. Treat every figure as a guide: the prices come from directory listings rather than 2026 rate cards, and VAT treatment varies, so ask each venue for current numbers.

Smaller weddings, up to about 100 guests

Hurtwood Park Polo Club, Cranleigh

The wedding space is the Clubhouse at the foot of the Surrey Hills, a restored barn-style building looking over the polo fields. It seats up to 80, and a marquee can take the total beyond 250. It is licensed for live music until midnight and has a licensed bar, with four catering providers to choose from. There is no accommodation on site. Bridebook shows packages from £37 per person. It suits smaller seated weddings, or couples who want a marquee for the evening and a polo backdrop. Details are on the club's wedding page.

Mid-sized, 100 to 150 guests

Coltsford Mill, Oxted

A family-run, exclusive-use, waterside barn in east Surrey, on a Grade II listed property with an illuminated 17th-century watermill. The Watermill Barn seats 150 for dining and takes 200 in the evening, while the Mill Room is licensed for ceremonies of up to 95. The grounds run to a dozen or so acres.

Hire starts from £2,500 on Guides for Brides, while Bridebook shows £2,100 to £5,900. Per-head packages are listed at £85, £95 or £100 plus VAT, with a minimum of 60 adults from Friday to Sunday and 40 midweek. It suits couples who want a mid-sized barn by the water and an all-inclusive package. See the Guides for Brides listing.

The Barn at Botley Hill, Titsey Hill

On Limpsfield Road at Titsey Hill, on the North Downs, this venue has three spaces: the Main Barn, a banqueting hall with glass windows; the Baby Barn for drinks receptions; and the Oakley Barn, a brick ceremony space. The council register lists it as licensed for up to 150 guests. Bridebook describes it as sitting at the highest point of the North Downs Way, with floor-to-ceiling windows. It suits modern taste and couples who want a barn within easy reach of London. We have no published price, so ask the venue directly through its own site.

Millbridge Court, Frensham Road, Farnham

Strictly a country house rather than a barn, but its ceremony and dining halls have oak beams and vaulted ceilings, which gives a similar feel. Ceremony and seated dinner are listed at 150, with 200 standing. Coco Wedding Venues says weddings start from £4,250, based on a February weekday. It suits couples who like barn-style beams but want an exclusive country house.

Larger weddings, 140 to 200 guests

Gate Street Barn, Bramley

The most complete package in the county for a barn wedding. It stands on a working organic farm in the Surrey Hills, five miles south of Guildford and about 30 minutes from the M25. The barn is built in traditional style using oak from trees lost on the farm in the 1987 hurricane.

Capacity: up to 150 seated and 200 for an evening reception. One photographer puts the main barn nearer 130, so confirm your numbers.

Included: exclusive use, tables and oak crossback chairs, a choice of six caterers, and the Orangery and Pheasantry alongside the barn.

Civil ceremonies: no additional venue cost.

Staying over: sleeps up to 28 on site, including the Farmhouse, Stable Flat, Hayloft and Shepherd's Hut.

Price: roughly £3,000 to £10,000 or more for hire depending on month and day, with caterers from £60 plus VAT a head.

It suits couples who want a classic oak barn, a weekend-long wedding and guests staying on site. The venue sells Friday to Sunday exclusive use. The Surrey Hills National Landscape page has the detail.

Loseley Park Tithe Barn, Guildford

Three miles south of Guildford, up a mile-long drive, Loseley House sits in 1,400 acres. The tithe barn is licensed for ceremonies, with a capacity of 140. For the reception, Visit Surrey lists 140 seated, 180 standing, or 180 seated with a marquee. The Great Hall in the Elizabethan manor house takes ceremonies of 102. Cottages sleep up to 8 guests, and there is a bridal room. Bridebook shows £10,000 to £12,000, the top of the barn price band. It suits couples who want a stately-home setting, a historic barn and a big guest list. The Visit Surrey listing sets out the spaces.
